Lincolnshire’s u3a neighbourhood networks are three local clusters — East Lincolnshire, Lincoln, and South Lincolnshire — each made up of nearby u3as that send representatives to regular meetings (East Lincolnshire three times a year; Lincoln and South Lincolnshire every six months).
East Lincolnshire u3a Neighbourhood Network
East Lincs Network (ELN) includes Boston, Horncastle, Louth, Skegness, Spilsby, West Wolds and Woodhall Spa, which covers from the beautiful hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds to the flat lands of the Lincolnshire Fens and across to the seaside at Skegness.
The ELN meets 3 times per year but, as we are all very dispersed around a county that does not have a motorway, we do not generally take part in joint member activities. However, at the 3 meetings we support each other on differing topics, issues and updates. Speaking of which, welcome to Rosie Allen and John Butler, and we hope to see you and collaborate with you soon.

This year of 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of the Viking Way trail (other trails are available), which gives each u3a member the chance to join walks and talks of historical interest. u3a groups such as photography groups have unlimited access to wildlife and gorgeous scenery such as the growing crops and red poppies and the endless huge skies, as do the walking groups. There are various country pubs for the Luncheon Groups to take advantage of.
Looking to the future, we hope to expand the membership of all u3as throughout the ELN and work closely with the new representatives to ensure the right footing for the future.
Lincoln Neighbourhood Group
The Lincoln group comprises Lincoln, Bailgate, Branston, Cliff Villages, Gainsborough, Heath, Lindsey, Saxilby, Wellingore and Witham and now meets every six months.
South Lincolnshire Neighbourhood Group (SLNG)
SLNG, covering Bourne, Deepings, Grantham, Sleaford, Stamford and Sutton Bridge, operates informally with no chair and circulated notes rather than formal minutes; meetings are held every six months and kept deliberately focused on two or three practical items.
