East Midlands Region News Extra!

EMR News Extra report of the Regional Workshop day

More than 80 members from u3as across the East Midlands came together on 11 March for a lively regional workshop day at Braunstone Civic Centre. Alongside Allan Walmsley’s call for u3as to look ahead and stay relevant, members took part in practical workshops on attracting new members, developing activities, and motivating volunteers through confidence‑building and shared responsibilities. East Midlands Region Newsletters

EMR Newsletter April 2026

Take a tour around the East Midlands u3a Networks!
This newsletter is packed with friendly updates from Networks and Neighbourhood Groups across the region. It’s a great snapshot of how u3as are connecting, sharing ideas and supporting each other — whether they’re long‑established county networks or smaller, informal groups finding what works best for them.

You’ll read about creative ways of meeting up, swapping tips on recruitment and running groups, building peer support, and organising events that bring people together. There’s a strong sense of enthusiasm, resilience and collaboration — and plenty of inspiration to take back to your own u3a. A great reminder of what can be achieved when we share experiences across the region.
